Value Bank

I’ve never worked in a bank, nor have any desire. Me and numbers are not best friends (haha). There is one bank I’ve found to be extremely valuable and I visit it daily. This applies to everyone.

I call it the Value Bank.

Every experience, negative and positive, carries incredible weight. When I first set off on a social media adventure in January 2019 (I do not find myself to be an expert), I found writing captions to be extremely hard. Do you ever feel the same way?? I would sit for what seemed like hours, breaking my head on what to write. Looking back, I chuckle. Some days I would waste hours and end up writing a few words following with an emoji. The process always seemed long and dreadful. I’ve been lucky to have a friend who became my coach and shared her expertise as I discovered the beauty of the social world.

This week, during a client call, I felt like I traveled back in time when she said — I hate writing posts and I can never write the way you write.

Ever felt that way? Yeah, me too.

I heard her frustration and couldn’t blame her for not even wanting to try. It’s difficult keeping up with the aesthetics, trend and branding.

This is what I told her which once changed my entire perspective on social media.

Everything you do should be putting value out there which gets stored in a “bank”. Sooner or later, it will trigger something.

As I continued to explain, something clicked within her internally. I hope the same happens to you.

Your knowledge is valuable.

Your experience is valuable.

What is inside of you is valuable.

Your impact directly correlates to you sharing.

I see people who are constantly forcefully selling their services or products online. The key is in sharing.

Many times we devalue our stories, and society dictates a perspective of how social media should look like. What simplified my life is adopting a mindset of sharing. Aesthetics and styling is important, but secondary. Every post I write is a moment in life expressed in words. I live to bring value. Social media is no longer a collage of photos; it is a place to give.

A giving mindset is an abundant mindset.

The key in successfully sharing online is writing each post expressing the feeling and emotion you experienced. Our energy is transferred and felt through the screen. People love stories. People also love mentally traveling there where you were and experiencing what you’ve experienced. A powerful exchange which goes beyond words. In a post, the reader gets a glimpse into you. Influence happens here. This is the real impact. No one can take away your story. It is your signature.

I believe as I put value out into the universe, someone somewhere who needs it will hear it. It was not a thought or experience meant only for me. It will activate others and unlock their potential. It will touch their soul and spirit. Every life matters, and if only one person took something out of a post, it is worthwhile. The beauty is in sharing, not hogging. Eventually it comes back to you with an abundance of blessing.

I want to encourage you to share your thoughts and story. Release it with positive energy and watch what bringing value to others does to you. You can give tremendously. Start right where you are at. Exchange occurs at our fingertips. Let’s never hold back.
